Who can see tagged pictures of my friends?

Say I tag a picture of my friend from my album and we're both part of the same network, but he befriends someone outside of that network, who I am not friends with. And I also set the security to only my friends and network can see the picture, but my friend has his settings where anyone can see pictures he's tagged in.

Will that person still be able to see my tagged picture from my friend's facebook?

Who can see tagged pictures of my friends?
I'm pretty sure the third party can not see it, even if your mutual friend is tagged in it.

Try it with some of your friends - if you click on the 'view photos of'...' link, it might say as part of the link that there are 100 photos, but once you open that page, only 70 show up. The missing 30 are part of albums whose owners have restricted photo settings. Unless you are friends with the photo album owner, if they have set the privacy to 'only friends' you cannot see those photos, regardless of who is tagged in them.

Note: if you are tagged in someone else's album, their settings override yours, so even if you want those to be private, they can be viewed by whomever has permission (their networks and friends). If you don't want to be identified you'd better un-tag it.
Reply:i think so.
Reply:Hi there!

Unfortunately, this is a security measure that has always bothered me about facebook.

If you are in a picture with someone who doesn't have as strict security/privacy settings as you do, it really ends up not mattering that you have stricter settings. Anyone that wants to look at that picture of your friend (if he is tagged) can see it if they are friends with him.

One way to avoid this would be to not tag people who you think probably won't have very strict security measures.

The good thing is that any other pictures in your album that don't have your friend in it won't be visible to his outside friends!
