I want to know weather you think Paedophiles should be Electronically Tagged and that the sex offender list be made Public???

No, I don't, and here's why: the government (of any country) never can leave well enough alone. They won't be happy with just tagging the child molesters; soon, everyone who has committed a crime will be tagged. From there, it's just a matter of time before all of us will be required to be tagged.





Also, there is no public benefit to tagging. Sure, we know where the pedophile is, but how are we going to know if s/he is with a child?





A public sex offender list, however, is a great tool for the public and I urge you and your fellow countrymen to make your elected officials do that right away.

Reply:Did you know there is no such thing as a sex offenders list? There is no such thing as 'signing a sex offenders register' and there is no such thing as a registered sex offender.





Police are aware of people who have convictions for sexual offences and if they are required to be monitored on release from detention they will do that. Is it not better to know where they are and to properly supervise them rather than the information to go public and them to be run out of town so to speak, where they would be free to continue to prey on victims without fear of reprisal.
Reply:no they should have their bits put in a grinder and their hands cut off. then when thye have suffered enough put to death to clear some space in the prisons for burglars and twocers.





i know its a strong view but i have a son and would do the above to anyone who touched him wrongfully.

I think the list is more of a difficult one and my reason is because many years ago we all had letters in our road put through the door staighting that the man in number 30 was a known paedophile and we should keep our children locked up.


Well when I went outside withing half an hour there was a baying mob with pick axes sticks hammers ect and they did not even live in our road!!


It turned out that the poor mans EX girlfriend had done this letter and posted one to us all for revenge to hurt him we all got a personal visit from police and letter the man had no convictions for anything not even parking fine and she was jailed a few months later the man ended up leaving mud stuck!!


They should have a lot more control over just where they live there is a huge loop hole in the law though.

Reply:yes it should be public! people should have the right to know if there is a "person" like that in the neighbourhood. and i dont agree to any human right excuses! they gave up their rights in that moment where they did what they did. if caught they should be put in a room with the parents of the abused child, just for 15 min or so!

Reply:no i think they should be killed. Being attracted to children is a sexual preferance. You cant change or cure these people , its like trying to make a gay person straight or vice a versa. The only sensible thing to do is kill them.
Reply:Can you explain to me how either measure will actually do any good? Tagging doesn't track individuals whereabouts, it determines if they are at a given place at a given time. How will a public list of paedophiles actually protect children?
