Red tagged items? like the red ipod nano???

i been searchin for a site that explains more about how the red tagged items work, so far, all i could figure out was that when you buy them, some of the money gets donated...to people with breast cancer.. (???) and i really need some more facts, but i can't find any... =*(

Product Red is an charity fund created by Bono and Bobby Shriver of DATA (Debt AIDS Trade in Africa).





Product Red is a brand that is liscenced to parter up with other companies, like American Express, Apple Computer, Converse, Motorola, The Gap and Giorgio Armani. Each of these companies will create a product with the Product Red logo. Then a percentage of the profits from the sale of these products will go to the "Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria"





In response to the person below me - "not much" is a very subjective statement. These companies don't have to donate a penny. And they're also doing a lot by putting their famous names out there in the fight against AIDS and raising awareness. Also, every product has a little information card in it that mentions the charity, so it will help raise a lot of money. Because of that, I personally would not blame them for not giving the amount of money I find sufficient, but I do see your point that by they way they advertise it, it sounds like these companies are being extremley generous with the proceeds, but they're not.
